Blade covers and soakers are one of the most important accessories you can buy for your skate, with the exception of laces. Not only will these protect your blades from being damaged in your bag or damaging other equipment, but they are designed to soak up the excess water that will melt after skating on the ice. Leaving this excess moisture on your blades can cause expedited wear on your blades and make them rust.
